Politic Situation of Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a presidential democratic republic. The government's responsibility is delegated to the President who represents the Executive Branch. There are also two vice presidents and five cabinet members, including one of two vice presidents.
The political system of Costa Rica is represented by three branches: Executive, Legislative and Judicial. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal is considered the fourth Branch of the Republic every four years, when national elections are conducted. Among other popular election positions, the President of the Republic is elected by direct vote in a secret ballot.
The Republic of Costa Rica is bordered on the north by Nicaragua, on the south east by Panama, at the east by the Caribbean Sea, and with Pacific Ocean to the west and south west. The boundaries are marked largely by natural elements: the northern boundary rests on a long stretch of the San Juan River and then follows the Shore of Nicaragua Lake, while the border with Panama follows a conventional path. Internationally, the country is part of the OEA and the ONU.
