Sports in Costa Rica
There are many sports that you can practice in Costa Rica, and although there are many modern sports facilities, sports fields, gymnasiums, etc., in some areas, the strong integration with the nature lived leans by the preference to conduct outdoor activities.
Themain sports in Costa Rica are golf, fishing, hiking, diving, horseback riding and cycling. Golf courses taught by Robert Trent Jones II, a five-star hotel, condominiums and varied activities, from a nap in the sun at the edge of the pool to surfing, from hiking to explore nature, to fishing in high seas.
Excursions
In general, all Costa Rica's national parks offer a wide selection of options for the traveler, such as the National Park Rincón de la Vieja, one of the most visited occupies in Costa Rica a territory marked by great volcanic cones, craters, lagoons, boiling mud pools and sulphurous springs. You can visit walking or horseback and take a bath in spring water. In the wonderful Corcovado National Park there are a few routes by the side of tropical forests, it is preferable to visit it in the dry season and keep your eyes open to discover many animals.

Deep Sea Fishing
In Costa Rica for offshore fishing, the Pacific coasts to the north in the Guanacaste area and to the south in Golfito are generally preferred. Rafting and Kayaking
The lovers of rafting and kayaking can practice their sport in Costa Rica: Reventazón River in the central region of the country is one of the most exciting and beautiful rivers in Costa Rica and "navigable all year," although the best months are June and July.
Another navigable river is the Rio Pacuare, also at the middle of Costa Rica, which offers an exceptional view and the opportunity to go rafting through spectacular canyons covered with virgin forest, the river is probably the best in the country for this sport.
Diving
In Costa Rica, the thrill is not confined to the surface. Caves, colorful fish and sharks are some of the most prominent aspects diving enthusiasts can appreciate. In the Pacific marine life is abundant; there are tuna, sharks and a variety of tropical fish. The Caribbean is known for the beauty of fishes such as the French angelfish, queen angel, the dark green and many others. In Costa Rica there are many places where they can organize dive trips and get rental equipment for you. The most abundant underwater wealth of the country focuses on the Cocos Island. Because of the distance and the value of the species that inhabit these places, it requires access to a means of transport and special permits.
Surfing and Windsurfing in Costa Rica
Much appreciated by lovers of these two sports, the town of Tamarindo on the Pacific coast seems to be the best place in Central America for surfing and windsurfing.
Bird Watching
Bird watchers know this country, and know it is full of wonderful different species, there are over 850 registered, so they stay in Costa Rica and certainly they never get disappointed wherever they go! Among the recommended areas The National Park Tortuguero, Corcovado National Park, Friendship Park as well as the tropical forests of La Selva (in the northern part of Costa Rica), Tapantí National Park (southeast of Cartago), Palo Verde National Park (in the Gulf of Nicoya), the National Wildlife Refuge Caño Negro (east of Upala) can be mentioned.
Of course we cannot forget the Isla del Coco, which is a very special place and absolutely wonderful for those who love bird watching.
