The Territory of Costa Rica

The beaches of Flamingo and Potrero are in an enviable geographic position, in front of four bays of white sand, protected by tropical islands where you can snorkel and admire tropical fishes, manta rays and sea turtles. Flamingo Bay, in particular, is a small harbor where blue marlin fishing boats dock.

The Guanacaste Region has the best climate in all Costa Rica; there is spotless sea, with waters exceptionally rich in fish, and white sand beaches that offer an unforgettable sight. Potrero is two miles from Flamingo where you can also get on horseback through the trails; the area has a large number of herds of horses that move freely through the green countryside of Potrero.

The nights are warm and get cool with the nice ocean breeze. The moon is so great that it seems very close, at other times; however, it takes the shape of a caravel that rests on the sea and then disappears. You will not feel in the darkness, its stars are so numerous that a whole night is not enough to count them all.

The Bay

In the Flamingo and Potrero Bay you'll find many white sand beaches, quiet, where you can swim in a clear and clean sea, away from streams, among numerous creeks. You can take a canoe and visit the small cays of the Potrero Bay, or rent a fishing boat in the deep sea port and catch a blue marlin or tuna fishes, rooster fish and all the best offered by the sea.

The Trails

You can "ride" on a motorcycle or a four-wheel motorcycle through dirt tracks that divide the sea of the jungle (Jungle - Moto), diving in clear water to meet a sea turtle or a giant manta (Scuba Club) hooked to a rope (Canopy Tour) with a guide, you can jump in the air over a forest in a canyon or a volcano. If you feel more comfortable and confident that you will enjoy your vacation, you can ride (horse riding) on the beach, visit the Tortuguero or Palo Verde reserves, which descend along the river to see crocodiles in their lunch hour, herons and river turtles, play golf in at least three courses of international level and surprised admire giant leatherback turtles at night, while they lay their eggs on Playa Grande.
